Policies

Reservation fees are taken only after a litter has been born and the litter has stablized. Reservation fees are non-refundable. If you want to be notified when that happens, send us a message and we will put you on our Waiting List.

Please specify 1. breed of puppy you want, along with 2. male/female, color, or other puppy preferences; 3. your preferred way to be contacted would be helpful.

Those on the Waiting List will be notified when we are ready to accept reservations for the puppies in the litter. If you would like to be notified, please Join the Waiting List.

If you cancel your reservation, for whatever reason, you may be able to apply for a different puppy within 12 months. This is at the discretion of the Seller. If you cancel a second time your reservation fee is forfeit.

Puppy Guarantee

If within 4 days of the date of the dog’s arrival, the purchaser believes the dog to be sick, the puppy may be returned with the registration papers to Tucker Family Pets along with a letter from the examining veterinarian and his/her phone number. We will verify with our own veterinarian, and then will replace the dog within a reasonable time (any difference in value paid for by the purchaser), refund the purchase price, or return the dog in healthy condition, at our discretion. (No exceptions to this waiting.) If we take the puppy back, no refund until our vet shows it is NOT the buyer’s fault.

We also give a one year guarantee for congenital defects.  If the buyer’s veterinarian AND the breeder’s veterinarian discover a congenital defect that will severely interfere with the life function or mobility of the puppy, the we will replace the puppy (with any difference in value being paid if necessary).  This puppy must first be returned to Tucker Family pets at buyer’s expense along with the registration papers.

Puppy prices & payments

The prices listed on our puppies reflects AKC limited registration (pet registration). If you are interested in full registration, which allows AKC show & breeding, please contact us. This is assessed on an individual basis, and carries no extra guarantee.

Taxes are collected & paid for each puppy. This tax is paid to the state of Texas on a quarterly basis.

Our pricing structure has changed in the last few months of 2022.

1)) I start with what I believe is a decent price for high quality puppies. The most “desireable” are often the first to go, although asking me about personality, etc can help you decide what is best for you and your family. (Bottom line, if I lose too much $, then I will need to stop this hobby.)

2)) at 7-8 weeks old I re-evaluate the market & may adjust the prices

3)) at 10-12 weeks another evaluation is done, and prices are reduced to help puppies find a home so they can bond with their new families.

4)) after that, it is “make me an offer”. This is not because they are not worth more, but because I strongly believe in puppies bonding with their families and not with me. Yes, that can be an issue since I play with them all the time!

Tiny toys (5 lbs and under, predicted as adult) are significantly more expensive than toys. This is for various reasons, but mostly to protect the puppy and assure it gets a home that doesn’t hesitate to care for them when the time comes. Tiny toys take lots of special care and often more $ for their care.

Final payment is requested in CASH for in-person pick ups, unless prearrangements have been made. TEXAS STATE TAX is included, as the state wants money.

ONLINE PAYMENTS can be received for your puppy. We accept Zelle, CashApp, and Venmo. Payments can also be made on our website, but will incur an additional 5% to cover what the site charges us. The website automatically also adds the sales tax, so it will figure the total.

Due to unfortunate past experiences, we are now more strict on payments. Payment will need to be IN FULL at pickup, or no puppy will be released. Please verify the total owed before coming to pick up your puppy. If other arrangements need to be made, please send us a message, or I will assume you will be there and ready for pickup. AGAIN, if puppy is not paid for IN FULL, no puppy can go home. IF PAYMENT IS NOT COMPLETED BY PICKUP, WE WILL ASSUME YOU DO NOT WANT THE PUPPY AND A NEW HOME WILL BE FOUND. If you are struggling with finances, we understand (and have been there.) Communication is key and essential.

Transported or shipped puppies (through nannies or transporters) need to be paid in full 5 business days before transport date. If payment is not received, then transport will need to be rescheduled for the sake of the transporter.

Limited Registration vs Full Registration

What is the difference? AKC.org describes their types of registration. They do a much better job than I can. Please research it on their site. Since our purebred puppies are all AKC registered, that is a great place to start.

IF A PUPPY QUALIFIES for full rights, it will be $500 - $1000 extra. I reserve the right to withdraw the offer of full rights before the puppy has been sold.

However, I prefer pet homes for my puppies for various reasons.
