JOIN THE WAITING LIST

Reservation fees are taken only after a litter has been born and the litter has stablized. If you want to be notified when that happens, send us a message and we will put you on our Waiting/Notification List. I will respond to your message within hours. If you do not get a response from me, please check your spam folder. If needed, please send another message. Thank you.

Please specify 1. breed of puppy you want, along with 2. male/female, color, or other puppy preferences; 3. your preferred way to be contacted would be extra helpful.

Once the puppies have been born and are ready to find new homes, we will notify 3 people at a time. Email is our preferred way to contact, but can use a different form when neccesary. Havanese puppies are ready earlier (2-3 weeks old); Poodle puppies can take weeks until we can assess their developing personality, so are ready for reservation at 4-5 weeks old.

Once you reply, we will move forward from that point. It works best to have your questions answered even before you are notified, as many have already decided and are prepared to reserve a puppy once they are notified.

Those on the Waiting List will be notified when we are ready to accept reservations for the puppies in the litter. If you decide YES, please confirm the puppy is still available and then send in the reservation fee. (It is helpful to email or message to see if the one you want is still available.) After the Waiting/Notification List has completed selection, the remaining puppies will be put on the website as “available.” Join the Waiting List.

reservation fee

PLEASE VERIFY THAT THE PUPPY YOU WANT IS STILL AVAILABLE. - RESERVATION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

Our reservation fees are very low for the puppy market.  They are only $150-250.  We do this because as pet owners, it can be concerning handing over hundreds of dollars when you can't take your puppy home for several weeks.  For our protection and to guarantee a puppy's new family this fee is NOT REFUNDABLE (Unless we have a serious concern over the puppy's health or well being) This fee will be applied to the final price of the puppy. Please verify with us that the puppy is still available. Then go to the menu and select “Puppy Reservations & Payments”, select the breed of puppy you are reserving and “add to cart.” There is a form that you will fill out during checkout.

puppy payments

The prices listed on our puppies are for AKC limited registration (pet registration). If you are interested in full registration, which allows AKC show & breeding, please contact us. This is assessed on an individual basis, and carries no extra guarantee.

State tax of 8.25% will be added for each. This tax is sent into the state on a quarterly basis.

Our prices are not meant to be negotiable (please don’t ask for a lower price.) Every time I have agreed to a lower price, it has not fared well for the puppy. If I see that the price needs to be adjusted, I will change the price before a reservation is taken. Please ask all questions that you can before you reserve your puppy.

Final payment is requested in CASH for in-person pick ups, unless prearrangements have been made. TEXAS STATE TAX WILL BE ADDED, as the state wants money. It is 8.25% added to the total.

ONLINE PAYMENTS can be received for your puppy. We accept Zelle, and occationally CashApp. Payments can also be made on our website, but will incur an additional 5% to cover what the site charges us.

Due to unfortunate past experiences, we are now more strict on payments. Payment will need to be IN FULL at pickup, or no puppy will be released. Please verify the total owed before coming to pick up your puppy. If other arrangements need to be made, please send us a message, or I will assume you will be there and ready for pickup. AGAIN, if puppy is not paid for IN FULL, no puppy can go home. IF PAYMENT IS NOT COMPLETED BY PICKUP, WE WILL ASSUME YOU DO NOT WANT THE PUPPY AND A NEW HOME WILL BE FOUND. If you are struggling with finances, we understand (and have been there.) Communication is key and essential.

Transported puppies (through nannies or transporters need to be paid in full 5 business days before transport date.

Puppy Shipping & Transport

We always prefer to have you pick up your puppy in person, but there are a few other choices to suit your needs. Things are constantly changing in the area of pet transport, and we try to keep up, but it can be confusing for all.

Currently, there is no air cargo transport for pets that seem reliable. If you decide to fly in to pick up the puppy, we recommend Southwest Airlines. We are happy to meet you at the airport (SAT - San Antonio.)

We can meet you in San Antonio or surrounding areas. We can also meet you in Houston, DFW area, Corpus Christi, Austin, Junction, Abilene areas for a fuel fee of $100-$200. Please communicate with us.

We have contact with a flight nanny and a ground transport person. We have used their services for ourselves and find them reliable. Please contact us for their information. We prefer you take charge of your puppy’s transportation needs, but can help you make arrangements.

Any puppy being transported through a service needs to be paid in full 5 business days before transporting. This gives us, the transporting person, and you enough time to made adjustments if needed. If the puppy is not paid in full within 5 days of the transport date, we will cancel their transport arrangements until payment is received. This is a protection for everyone, and assure the puppy has a home waiting for him/her.

health guarantee

If within 4 days of the date of this dog’s arrival, the purchaser believes the dog to be sick, the puppy may be returned with the registration papers to Tucker Family Pets along with a letter from the examining veterinarian and his/her phone number. We will verify with our own veterinarian, and then will replace the dog within a reasonable time (any difference in value paid for by the purchaser), refund the purchase price, or return the dog in healthy condition, at our discretion.

We also give a one year guarantee for congenital defects.  If the buyer’s veterinarian and the breeder’s veterinarian discover a congenital defect that will severely interfere with the life function or mobility of the puppy, the we will replace the puppy (with any difference in value being paid if necessary).  This puppy must first be returned to Tucker Family pets at buyer’s expense along with the registration papers.

puppy pickup

Pickup day is such an exciting day! Puppies get bathed, checked again, and readied to go to their new homes. Puppy bags are packed with puppy’s food, puppy pad,and any applicable paperwork.

Please bring the following for pickup by car/truck:

  • Carry case/crate for sleep time and to give puppy her own space.

  • Blanket and/or bed to keep her warm

  • Paper towels or something to clean puppy. Young puppies are prone to car-sickness and it can get messy.

  • Water, water bowl, chew toy

  • Puppies SHOULD NOT be on strange ground, even for potty breaks, before they have completed their series of vaccines. Your own home should be the first place they “touch the ground” after they leave here. I provide a puppy pad, but bringing extras is helpful.

Please bring these additional items if picking up by air:

  • Nutri-Cal or other high-calorie supplement (this is a MUST for tinies). Hypoglycemia is real in puppies (especially tiny poodles), please research, study, & learn the signs. Be prepared for it. It may not happen, but be prepared; it is a preventable emergency.

  • Heat pads (hand warmers, often in the hunting or health sections of the store). The floor of an airplane is very cold, and a blanket is often not enough. Heat-pads provide the warmth puppies need to stay warm & healthy. I know you want to hold her all the way home, but airlines can be insistent on them being under the seat for the whole flight. Be prepared

OOPS….

If you have to delay pickup of your puppy for longer than one extra week (9 weeks old), we will need prepayment for housing & care: $15 per day which includes additional worm medication & vaccines, as needed. IF PAYMENT FOR BOARDING IS NOT RECEIVED BEFORE THE BOARDING TIME BEGINS, WE WILL ASSUME YOU ARE NOT COMING TO PICK UP YOUR PUPPY AND A NEW HOME WILL BE FOUND.

We reserve the right to hold a puppy until he/she is ready to go. Their health is more important than our convenience.

We reserve the right to NOT SELL a puppy, for any reason. We always try to keep our word, but if we feel the puppy could be in jeopardy, we will not send to a new home.
